Year 10 Careers Insight:London Guildhall Visit

Year 10 students from Coombe Wood School recently visited the London Guildhall for a day of workshops focused on developing high level employability skills.

During a speed networking session in the historic Guildhall, students met business volunteers and explored different career paths through practical activities, including a tower building challenge and a CV skills exercise. The experience had a clear impact, with 92 per cent of students reporting increased confidence when speaking with professionals and 90 per cent gaining a better understanding of different career options.

In the afternoon, students took part in a project management challenge led by the Project Skills Alliance. Working in teams, they tackled real world scenarios from the events industry, developing their collaboration, problem solving and planning skills.

Students particularly valued the interactive nature of the day and the opportunity to speak directly with professionals. Teamwork, communication and confidence were identified as the key skills developed during the visit.
